The International Clara Schumann Competition is an international online classical music competition for young musicians around the world. The 2022 edition is open to musicians from all over the world, and in the categories of Piano, Strings, Voice, Piano 4 hands & Chamber Music. Each discipline is divided into different age categories.
Participants are required to submit video material for the audition. The final selections of winners are based solely on the same recordings submitted. Multiple winners will be chosen in each age category.
The competition looks for talented musicians who have excellent musical skills, a strong personality and fantastic creativity in their video performance.
Our competition aims to encourage young and professional musicians to perform and grow. We believe that our competition can offer many benefits to our participants, provide a platform where they can feel comfortable competing and help to build their confidence and realise their dreams. The idea is to bring contestants through one of the most powerful platforms nowadays – The Internet.
We hope that this will help develop confidence and help musicians realise their dreams and potential. Our purpose is to discover artists with outstanding personality and provide awards which can help to launch international careers.
The aim of this competition is to find performers with a strong artistic personality and stage presence. The emphasis is therefore not on the purely technical aspects of the performance, but also on the charisma and overall artistic impact of the performer.
The purpose of The International Clara Schumann Competition is to discover both young talents and exceptional performers who have already reached a professional level, and to be a part of their journey towards international careers.
