Polish Violin Duo (Poland)

Polish Violin Duo consists of violinists Marta Gidaszewska and Robert Łaguniak.
The ensemble was formed in 2014. It had its origins in the M. Karłowicz Poznań Secondary Music
School in the violin class of prof. Karina Gidaszewska. Currently, Marta is a student at the Music
Academy in Poznań in the violin class of prof. Bartosz Bryła and prof. Karina Gidaszewska, while
Robert is a student at the Music Academy in Łódź in the violin class of prof. Karina Gidaszewska.
Marta and Robert have been taking part in the International and Polish Violin Competitions for
years, always winning top positions. They have over 190 awards, including at competitions in
Japan, USA, Russia, Estonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, England,
France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Hungary, Poland.
As a duo they conduct lively concert activities. They had concerts in Europe and Asia. They
performed at the most Philharmonics in Poland, among others at National Philharmonic in Warsaw,
the Lublin Philharmonic, the Subcarpathian Philharmonic in Rzeszów, the Poznań Philharmonic.
They also performed with orchestras.
Together they took part in many National and International Competitions. Their most important
achievements include the 1st prize and 6 special prizes at the Stanisław Moniuszko International
Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów, Poland (2019) and 1st prize at the A. Rubinstein
International Competition of Chamber Ensembles in Düsseldorf, Germany (2019). In addition, they
are winners of the International Music Competition “Concert Tours to China” in Copenhagen,
Denmark (2020), winners of the Grand Prix at International Music Contest in Kyoto, Japan (2021),
Grand Prix at International Music Performance Competition in Łódź, Poland (2021), Grand Prix at
International Viennese Spring Music Competition in Vienna, Austria (2021), 1st prize at
International Music Competition ,,Odin” in Tallin, Estonia (2021), 1st Prize at S. Prokofiev’s
International Music Competition ,,Silk Way” in Moscow, Russia (2021), 1st Prize at International
Music Competition „Magic Muse” in Moscow, Russia (2021), Grand prix at International
Competition „Music & Stars Awards” in Tallin, Estonia (2020), Grand Prix at Brussels International
Music Competition in Brussels, Belgium (2020), Grand Prix at International Chamber Tournament
in Three Hits in Bydgoszcz, Poland (2020), Grand Prix at the International L. Bellan Music
Competition in France (2020), 1st Prize at the International Music Competition in Moscow, Russia
(2020), 1st Prize at the International Competition „Music e-Contest” (2020), 1st Prize at the
International Music Competition “OPUS 2020” in Cracow, Poland, 1st Prize at the International
Music Competition “The Muse” in Athens, Greece (2020), 1st Prize at the International

They record radio and television programs.
They cooperated with contemporary polish composers, couple of them dedicated a piece for them,
among others “Attra” for two violins by Michał Janocha.
In 2021, in cooperation with the DUX record company, the duo released their first album, making
the world phonographic premiere of duets for two violins by a Polish forgotten composer – Joachim
Kaczkowski.
In 2020, two albums were released also by the DUX record company with their participation.
Polish Violin Duo has in their repertoire pieces from the Baroque, Classicism, Romantic and 20th
century periods.
